About This Release
Wide Angle Recordings is proud to present its first release of the year with a 3-track EP from the Australian new-comer Draso. The talented producer will be a recognizable name for fans of Wide Angle Recordings and Traum Schallplatten; his unique style of melodic tech and progressive house has appeared on both labels over the last two years. Like his past work, Scultptured is an exciting blend of melody, tech-infused percussion, and vibrant drive. All 3 tracks seemingly nod to the past sounds of Wide Angle Recordings’ while creating a new edge for today’s dance floor.
The EP opens with Form, a warm and beautiful track that progresses effortlessly from beginning to end. The deep bassline and light, natural percussion deliver a calming earthy vibe that subtly builds in intensity. Form is a perfect warmup track in your progressive sets or a great fit for those special sunrise tech sets.
The second track is Carve, a lively melodic track that raises the energy of the EP with a squelching melody and driving bassline. Carve is a hypnotizing track that will resonate with fans of melodic techno and the label’s back catalog.
The EP concludes with the title track Sculptured. Perhaps Draso’s best work to date, Sculptured is a tech-inspired progressive roller that twists and turns with ease. A rumbling, chunky bassline sets the foundation under a harmonious blend of lush pads and synths. The builds and surprisingly subtle drops make Sculptured a secret weapon in any progressive set.
Stay tuned for more music from Draso on Wide Angle Recordings later this year.
